During the course of a week you may wear the following hats: counselor, co-worker, daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, aunt, grandma, neighbor, chef, nurse, counselor, referee, committee chair, entrepreneur, and oh, yeah … a woman of God.
Within the entrepreneur role then we take it a step further and will attempt to wear these hats as well: CEO, coach,virtual assistant, event planner, community leader, marketing representative, graphic designer, ads consultant, copywriter, social media manager and sales person..
I’m dizzy typing it so you must be as well just reading it. It’s crazy how in our minds it seems logical but in reading it right now surely you can see how RIDICULOUS this is right?
Then the kicker is we will try to do all this and wonder why sales are not consistent nor non existent even? Ma’am (insert side eye and a sip of tea)..
I tried the too many hat system and probably slept all of 10 hrs in 2017. Issa no for me fam! I couldn’t sustain it.
A few weeks ago I wrote to you about how I was struggling to focus on getting things done now that I’m full time in business. I said I had to prioritize based on relationships what was going to get done. That has been a game changer!
But now I want to talk about wearing too many hats as an entrepreneur. If you’re waiting on the business to make money to hire or to invest in certain tools. I advise against it. You doing everything is costing you precious time that you can’t get back. Not to mention money because while graphics and marketing are great, they are not necessarily revenue producing. So let’s do the following together..
Take a deep breath and decide to…
Resist the rush…
Press pause on non needle moving activities…
Stop the hustle and get in alignment instead…
Once you do, the scales will be removed from your eyes. The mountain of hats disappears and you can look up to see that what you should be focused on is:
Messaging & Sales
Mindset & Spiritual work
That is what Indira Michelle will be doing in her biz BEFORE anything else and any of those other tasks I listed that I don’t enjoy is straight up getting automated or delegated. PERIOD
This is what it’s going to take sis.. Those are the non negotiables.
